Hi Folks.

Our Online Sunday Service for this week's idevotional from Prestatyn Church in Wales is a mixture of songs, a reading, some prayers and a short talk. Hopefully you will find it fairly informal and accessible, with a story about the Old Testament prophet Elisha being surrounded by an hostile army and how God enabled him to turn the tables.

 Hi Folks.

On Sunday 10th October, our Online Sunday Service was uploaded to Facebook, however, although it is there on the site itself, the file does not play in a stable manner, this is not a fault of ours. Due to this, the service couldn't be uploaded to youtube as the link had been corrupted. I, as your web admin, have tried various methods of solving this without luck. So, I can only apologise most sincerely for the situation regarding this service.

I can only hope that this Sunday's Online Sunday Service can be successfully uploaded.

Once again, my sincerest apologies for any inconvenience caused to our congregation and visitors to our website. The content is available via Here. but this is intermittent.

 Hi Folks

The weather has been rather dismal this week, but next week is looking great for a number of outdoor activities.

The last of the Shore to Shore walks is from Penrhyn Bay to Llandudno, starting at 1pm, so do come along for a chat, some litter picking and pauses to pray along the way.  There is usually a prayer van with ice lollies at the end that are always a welcome reward, and do not worry there are several willing drivers to give lifts back to your car or however you have planned to get home again.

Walk, Pray and Clear the Way! This Monday 23rd August from 1pm. Concluding Tomorrow: Shore to Shore. No. 6: from Penrhyn Bay to Llandudno For further details. https://dioceseofstasaph.org.uk/shore-to-shore/

On Thursday there is a new event in celebration of International Dog Day and a get together for a picnic social at Coed Y Morfa .  The Trails & Tails Picnic is being organised by Friend of Christ Church and is a free social opportunity with: a Treasure Trail to follow; some unusual categories in an impromptu Dog Show and a few games to play or watch as we bask in the sun.  Bring a chair, bring a picnic, bring a friend, bring a dog (optional) and let's have a lark in the park.  A free event but donations are encouraged for the Friends of Christ Church.  11am until 2pm next to the football field by the car park at Lon Goed, Prestatyn.

A Special Event from Friends of Christ Church. A Trails & Tails BYO Picnic at Coed Y Morfa, Prestatyn on Thursday 26th August from 11am - 2pm. It’s International Dog Day, so bring along any 4 legged friends (optional) for prizes! There’s a local Street Treasure Trail for those with eagle eyes! BYO folding chair & picnic. Subject to reasonable weather! Meet next to the Car Park in Lon Goed! Bring family & friends to share in the fun! Free event but donations encouraged! All are welcome!

It looks like the weather will stay good for the Bank Holiday Weekend, so do come and support the last Fair Weather Fair for August.  In the grounds of Christ Church there will be more stalls than ever with some great bargains to be had and plenty of fun to go around.  There will be Bric a Brac, Books, Refreshments and the Teddy Tombola has been very popular.  If you're visiting the High Street, then make sure you linger at Church, which shall be open for private prayer and lighting candles during the Fair.  The new time is 10am until 1pm on Saturday 28th August and all monies raised are for the Friends of Christ Church.

The Last Fair Weather Fair so let’s make it the best. Sat 28th August from 10am - 1pm in the grounds of Christ Church and in aid of Friends of Christ Church.

Our Online Sunday Service this week will be the usual mix of music and images, prayers and a talk focusing on the theme: The Shield!  Do take a look if you can't get to church in person (and even if you can, as the themes will be different).  You no longer need to book before attending, although the other precautions from before will be maintained with some variation between churches.  Do come along, it would be great to see you!

From the Web Editor... My Sincerest Apologies.

 Dear all,

I leave this note as an apology to all who have relied on the website this last few weeks with regards to the online services and news updates, etc.

Due to personal matters ongoing and not feeling at my best of late, It can sometimes be a struggle updating and managing the website. It isn't as easy as you might think "oh just copy and paste emails and click submit." There is a lot of work involved on this site including changing particular code, uploading the videos straight after the online premiers, changing title data and so much more. It can take a few hours to get everything prepared before the service broadcasts, then another 20 minutes plus after the service to upload, apply the required information and then link and embed to this website so that everything connects together. For a sighted person, this can be done somewhat quicker, but for me, fully blind, using some rather specialist technologies and skill, it takes just a touch longer as everything has to be proof checked and edited.

I very much rely upon Revd. David Ash's service emails and also preparing and uploading the recent pew sheets. though it is more work, it is about providing a service and experience that users not only benefit from, but also need.

With this, Please accept my sincerest apologies for falling short of my original standard of service during this short period. As you may be aware, our clergy have arranged time off for certain weeks and David Ash has taken 2 weeks leave but will be back with us officially on Sunday 22nd August, recharged and refreshed, a much deserved break. As much as I. would love that kind of break, This website requires a fair bit of my time.

Anyway, I hope all are safe and well, enjoying the Summer holiday and all is well.

Take care all.

Our Theme: "Be Magnificent!"

Hi Folks

I do hope that you are having a good Summer so far, stay-cationing no doubt!  If you are around then do support the 'Trails and Tails Picnic' on the 26th August and the last 'Fair Weather Fair' for this Summer on 28th August.

Our Online Sunday Service for this week is on the theme of: 'Be Magnificent! Don't forget that you can always catch up on any of the devotionals you may have missed (or see them again) here on our website, on our facebook page or on our official youtube page.

There are live services in our church buildings at 9.30am CHS and 10.45am Christ Church every Sunday now, and I want to update you on the latest Covid 19 arrangements.  To say the least, they are still a bit confusing as there are different requirements / advice / expectations from the Welsh Government, the Church in Wales (Bench of Bishops) and the local church people.  In Summary: we shall still wear masks in churches; we shall still track and trace; we shall still only offer wafers during Holy Communion; we hope to sing soon but at present that is not possible due to the local transmission rates (272 per 100,000 people in Denbighshire and it needs to be 50 per 100,000 or less); we shall be less dictatorial about social distancing (it will be possible to maintain a distance by choosing separate chairs, or sit closer but do ask before sitting near others already in pews or linked chairs); CC shall maintain a one way system but that is being phased out at CHS; you no longer need to book at either church and can just turn up.  These arrangements are being frequently reviewed and new risk assessments shall be prepared soon.

Monday 16th:  Shore to Shore No 5: Colwyn Bay - Penrhyn Bay starting at 1pm all welcome!

Wednesday 18th, 1pm Mid Week Communion at the Church of the Holy Spirit, with the options of bringing a picnic beforehand and/or staying for a Mission Outreach and Belief (MOB) Meeting following on.

New Event for International Dog Day - 26th August!

Bank Holiday Weekend: Saturday 28th August
NB Now 10am to 1pm (for even more fun!)

If you have enquired (or would like to enquire) about a Christening or Wedding, then do leave a message on 01745 776355 and I'll get back to you soon.  Do please bear with me as I'm on leave presently.

I do hope that you can have a good break yourselves, whatever the weather and you can always stay in touch by tuning in to the online services.
